Women Divisions
ICN Angels
Open to all female competitors. Judging is based on the best costume and overall presentation. Costume should incorporate wings. Stage walk and half turns.
Ms Swimsuit Model
Models wear a one-piece swimsuit and heels. Judged on a toned, lean physique and overall presentation. Stage walk and 1/4 turns.
Ms Runway Model
Peformed on stage in an evening gown of your choice. Judged on overall appeareance, confidence, stage walk, presentations, elegance, beauty and skin tone. Stage walk and group half turns.
MS BIKINI MODEL
A Bikini Model has a toned and athletic body with firm glutes and a flat midsection. She should be lean but not lean enough to show separation between muscle groups. Great stage presence and presentation. Stage walk and 1/4 turns.
Ms Fitness Model
A more athletic and leaner look than Ms Bikini Model. Emphasis on a balanced muscular body displaying six-pack abdominals and a high degree of muscle separation. Great stage presence and presentation. Stage walk and 1/4 turns.
Ms Sports Model
A fit, athletic, feminine body is required in this category. Ideally displaying a six-pack abdominals, good quad development and muscle separation with great stage presence and presentation. Stage walk and 1/4 turns.
Ms Figure
Far more muscle development than Ms Sport/Fitness Model. A feminine shape with emphasis on a symmetrical physique, muscle separation and a higher degree of leanness than the Model classes. Stage walk, 1/4 turns and muscle posing.
Classic Figure
As for Ms Figure with emphasis on an X frame and overall symmetry. Competitors perform stage walk and quarter turns only.
Ms Bodybuilding
The highest degree of muscular development and conditioning with a focus on small waist and overall balance between muscle groups. Muscle separation, vascularity and definition are expected. Stage walk, 1/4 turns and muscle posing.
Ms Wellness
For females with more muscle mass/body mass in the hips, glutes, and thighs. The upper body muscularity is developed but not to the degree and thickness of the lower body. Athletes must have a flat and toned midsection and enough body fat to avoid a high degree of muscle separation. Also judged on presentation and stage presence. Stage walk and 1/4 turns.
Men's Divisions
Bodybuilding
The highest degree of muscular development and conditioning with a focus on small waist and overall balance between muscle groups. Separation, vascularity and definition are expected. Stage walk, 1/4 turns and muscle poses.
Classic Physique
Posing taken from the “Golden Era” of Bodybuilding. Flawless symmetry, perfectly sculptured muscle groups creating a balanced and complete physique. Emphasis on presenting the physique through posing. Posing trunks supplied by ICN. Stage walk, 1/4 turns and muscle posing rounds.
Men's Physique
Well developed and muscular upper body without the thickness of a Bodybuilder. Emphasis on V taper, great conditioning and chiseled abdominals. Boardshorts are worn for this division. Stage walk, 1/4 turns and muscle posing.
Men's Fitness
Balance between upper and lower body , lean condition with 6 pack abs, capped shoulders and back definition however not the size seen in Men’s Physique or Bodybuilding. Posing trunks supplied by ICN. Stage walk, 1/4 turns, rear pose and abdominal pose. Stage walk and 1/4 turns
Class Definitions
First Timer
First timer means you have never entered a bodybuilding competition before in any federation – EVER. You may be a First Timer in multiple divisions providing you have never competed before for any federation.
Age Group
Age groups include 30+, 40+, 50+, 60+ and 70+ classes in several divisions. All age groups are not guaranteed at every competition and ICN reserves the right to combine age groups. You must be of the age or older in order to enter an age group class, for example you must be 30 years or older to enter 30+.
U21’s, you must be 21 years or younger in order to enter this class.
Open Classes
Open is the class all competitors should strive to reach. This is the highest level of any amateur division. If you have competed regularly as an Open competitor in a division before, in any federation, we suggest you enter Open.
Novice
Novice means you have not won (placed first) as an Open competitor or won an Overall title in that division in an ICN competition previously. An exception will be made if you place first in a small Open class i.e. one or two competitors. When entering please bear in mind that a Novice is someone relatively new to competing. If you have been competing for several years, or you regularly enter the Open division of other federations and have won either Open or Overall titles in other federations, we encourage you to enter the Open class in ICN NZ competitions.
Momma
Simple, you must be a Mother. No restrictions on age of children for this event.
Overall Titles
ICN NZ will be offering first place getters the opportunity to compete for the Overall Title in the following divisions: Bikini, Sport Model, Fitness Model, Figure, Women’s Bodybuilding, Men’s Bodybuilding, Classic Physique, Men’s Physique and Men’s Fitness. Overall titles for other divisions such as Ms Wellness, Ms Classic Figure and Ms Swimsuit Model will be offered at Nationals only.
