My body-building journey began later in life with my first competitive season in 2023. Before that, I had been a competitive CrossFit athlete for about 7 years and never would have thought I’d become a professional bodybuilder.

With a huge amount of support and encouragement from my partner, who is also a bodybuilder, my arm was twisted into giving bodybuilding a real shot. All my training before making the switch had built a solid foundation to work with and our work.

In 2023, I competed in my first ICN Show at the Hawke’s Bay Classic, taking out the overall title and earning a spot to compete in the ICN Nationals later that year. At nationals, I took out the overall title again and earned my Ms. Figure Pro Card.

Come 2024, it was announced that the ICN World Natural Games would be held in Canberra, Australia, an opportunity far too big and close to home to miss. So, it was decided that I would make my Pro debut there.

In November 2024, I made my Pro Debut at the WNG and got the overall win and title of Pro Ms. Figure World Champion. This is by far one of my greatest achievements to date and still very much the beginning of my bodybuilding career.

I am proud to be a Pro and a part of such an incredibly supportive and world-class federation. I am even lucky enough to share all this with my partner Shane who is also an ICN Pro Mens Physique athlete and a huge part of everything I have achieved so far in the sport.

MY TOP 3 TIPS TO BECOMING A PRO:

  1. Get a good coach – Not only that, but spend some time working with them before you decide to compete. Make sure you gel and can communicate openly to build trust and understanding of how you and your body/mind work.
  2. Be patient and consistent – Natural bodybuilding takes time and deliberate effort daily. You get out what you consistently put in.
  3. Be sure of your why and make it more than just wanting to win – Bodybuilding is an incredibly difficult but rewarding sport. There will be days when you really don’t want to do what you need to, and your why is what will get you through them.
