My name is Teesha Pennington, and I am an ICN Bikini Pro Athlete. My fitness journey began in January 2024 when I started training at the gym to build strength for my joinery apprenticeship. Along the way, I worked with my incredible personal trainer, Tamara Gonzalez, who competed in ICN wellness. Tamara introduced me to the world of bodybuilding, and from the moment she asked if I’d be interested in competing, I was all in. What followed was a whirlwind journey of dedication and growth.
After five months of prep, I stepped on stage for my first show, where I earned my first regional title at Hawkes Bay. That experience fueled my passion, and I competed at the Nationals in Hamilton, where I won the national bikini title and earned my pro card. It was an incredible first year in the industry, and I am beyond excited to see what the future holds in this sport.
My top three tips for becoming an ICN Bikini Pro:
- Believe in yourself. Stay positive and remind yourself that you can achieve your goals. Push through challenges, even on the days when motivation feels low.
- Work with an experienced coach. A knowledgeable coach prioritising your health and success is invaluable in this journey.
- Commitment and discipline. These are the foundations of success in bodybuilding. Stay consistent, stay focused, and trust the process. You’ve got this!
